Tree Frog Night

"A B&B that is beautiful, not cute. You drive off Washington 542 into a cedar forest, leaving behind the speedy jangle of city and highway to be enfolded in a realm of quiet beauty. It's like sitting on the forest floor - but with every comfort. My room at the Tree Frog Inn was not only immaculately clean and well-ordered, but artful and welcoming. Everything in it had clearly been carefully selected and thoughtfully placed. The room felt like an extension of the forest outside its beautiful, large windows. I felt invited to make full use of the amenities of the Inn and very much appreciated the fact that it is maintained with an authentic effort to honor the environment and operate with small footprint--no mysterious chemical cleaning and disinfectant odors and even a compost receptacle. I sipped wine by the creek, slept beautifully, and would happily have stayed much longer if I'd had time. I will definitely return."

tree frog night

in a silver cedar forest --
a full creek accompanying
a tree frog chorus

My love and I listen...
as spring symphony
dreams flow
and softly sounds
of breathing slow

in our grateful

The suite photos on this page (photos 1-4, 10 & 11 Mediterranean, photos 5-9 Salish) and on other pages may be enlarged by clicking on them; You may view exterior photos of the suite cottage here.

The king suites are in their own charming cottage through a beautiful stained glass gate set in lawn, gardens and forest near the pond, separate from the main house. The ambiance of the suites is cozy and intimate with gas fireplaces in the living area and romantic ceiling fans in the bedroom. A light continental, self-serve breakfast rich in organic and locally-sourced ingredients is always available in the small kitchenette between the suites.

The private entrance of each king suite includes a skylight lit covered hardwood porch with comfortable seating for two. Each suite has windows on three sides looking out on towering trees, birds, the main house, the large forest mural and gardens.

Each suite sleeps up to four people and includes a skylight, California king beds (or two XL twins) in the bedroom, radiant floor heat in the baths, paperstone desks, unusual eco-friendly wall materials, a hand-made cribbage board, a shared wall insulated to minimize sound transmission, and a shared kitchenette with refrigerator, icemaker, microwave, tea service, microwave popcorn, filtered water, toaster, and picnic dishes.
